Canterbury International Youth Parliament

June 8th, 2011

The Canterbury International Youth Council was set up six years ago by a number of people wishing to create and develop opportunities for young people in the district, to meet and debate matters of common concern with young people in other countries.

The Council comprises teachers, youth workers, local council representatives, and young people.

From 20th June 2011, Canterbury is holding the return of the Parliament with the theme of the session being ‘Young people as volunteers, contributing to their communities.’

The Parliament will be a celebration of valuable volunteering young people do in the Canterbury District and in the local communities of our partners abroad.

Those attending from the Canterbury District are young people from the many local schools and Universities in the area and our partners from abroad including Hungary, Russia, Italy, France, Sweden and Germany.
